Just across the Greek border, Bulgaria’s Eastern Rhodope Mountains showcase exceptional biodiversity year-round. Winter brings majestic Griffon Vultures and Cinereous (Eurasian Black) Vultures to the feeding site near our raptor photography hide, offering stunning photographic moments.
Beyond birds, the region is rich with other wildlife, including European Bison, Red Deer, Fallow Deer, and more, offering excellent photography opportunities.

Bulgarian Black Sea Coast – Red-breasted Goose Spectacle

 In coastal Dobrogea, along Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast, a significant portion of the world’s population of Red-breasted Geese gathers for winter. Witnessing thousands of these rare, stunning geese taking flight from their roosts at dawn is unforgettable. Their movements between the Black Sea lakes in Bulgaria and Romania depend on weather conditions, which we monitor closely.
